As a small company that manufactures most of our products, we are responsible for ensuring any waste is disposed of correctly, because we care about our planet, and are mindful of how we destroy our waste.
Recycling wasn’t always a priority but over the past 7 years we have made a conscious effort to play our role in keeping the environment sustainable for the future. We recognise that failing to recycle our waste only adds to environmental challenges, increasing pollution, creating land waste, and damaging our planet and its animals.
Eco friendly PVC profiles
P & K Lacey manufacture nearly all our products, which means we can choose what materials to use when making them. PVC profile has always been an easy, cheaper, and popular choice among customers, meaning we use this material all the time. Therefore, we made the choice to use an eco-friendly PVC profile which is produced with lead free stabilisers, making it free of greenhouse gases, and low on CO2 emissions. This allows us to manufacture and fit our PVC windows, doors, & conservatories with the ‘Green’ stamp of approval.
We take the time to sort our rubbish. Three skips for different materials. General waste, glass waste and wood waste. Our glass and wood waste gets collected and recycled into a ready-mix concrete thus 98% of the waste avoids going to landfill.
Contributing to the health of our planet
Naturally, we do use a lot of plastic & aluminum, however, all our spare or wasted materials gets collected and recycled to the best of its ability. The PVC is extracted from each batch of plastic which goes through a vigorous process to eventually get to a state of being reused. Our aluminum products also go through a similar process where our waste metals are collected and then scrapped properly. These processes give the materials the best chance of being recycled and reused contributing towards the health of our planet.
